Journalism

Carol is a respected medical journalist with by-lines in titles as different as The Sun and The Lancet. She has also contributed to many other publications including broadsheet newspapers, magazines, and websites.

Carol’s articles for fellow doctors and other health professionals can be found in The Lancet, BMJ, BMA News, GMC Today, British Journal of Hospital Medicine, Health Service Journal, Women’s Health Journal, Postgraduate Medical Journal, and British Journal of Rheumatology.

In 2014, she was elected President of the Guild of Health Writers.

Non-fiction books

Many of Carol’s non-fiction books are on child health and parenting, such as Twins & Multiple Births. The titles combine her professional expertise and her personal experience as a mother. As co-author of the book General Practice at a Glance, Carol won a British Medical Association book award in 2013. A companion volume, General Practice Cases at a Glance, appeared later.
